Job summary

Blue Zoo Animation Studio is seeking a Prop Designer in the UK to create prop and set designs from concept to final approved visuals under the Art Director’s guidance. The role requires regional UK presence outside the M25 and the right to work in the UK.

You’ll contribute to story and staging with a proactive, collaborative attitude and deliver concepts on time. You will produce detailed drawings, collaborate with Design and Asset teams, and help develop props for 3D production while embracing

Qualifications

• Adaptable to different show designs and styles.
• A portfolio showing prop design variety aligned to story/world.
• Clear presentation of work with thought process and purpose.
• Strong skills in drawing, painting and visual storytelling.
• Familiar with colour, lighting and value in design.
• Experience with volumes, turnarounds and spatial planning.
• Ability to develop props/sets for 3D production from exploratory concepts.
• Collaborative and able to take feedback constructively.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed drawings at correct scale with prop specs.
• Collaborate with Design and Asset Departments.
• Work as part of a team to interpret concepts and support teammates.
• Manage assets and time to meet deadlines.
• Research and provide exploratory sketches for props/sets based on the brief.
• Respond positively to notes and feedback.
