Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking Project Workers to deliver intensive, home-based support to families with children aged 8-18. The role focuses on safeguarding, relationship repair, and tailored plans for each family’s needs, including crisis periods and weekly home visits.

The Edge of Care service is dedicated to safely prevent and reduce the number of children and young people entering care. We do this by providing direct and intensive support to children aged 8-18 years old and their families in their homes over a period of 4-12 weeks and beyond, and we are looking for a motivated and experienced Project Workers to join our team.
We understand that family life is not easy and sometimes relationships break down. Our service works with families to try and understand what has led to the breakdown of the relationship and support them to repair and move forward.
We work with families experiencing significant challenges and with children who may be at risk of entering care. As a result, our approach focuses on delivering intensive, relationship-based support tailored to each family's needs. This includes regular home visits, typically on a weekly basis, with increased contact and intervention during periods of crisis.
The role involves working with families facing a range of complex circumstances, including domestic abuse, mental health difficulties, substance misuse, child-to-parent aggression, and safeguarding concerns. You will also support children and young people with significant additional needs, including neurodiversity, and those affected by trauma resulting from abuse, bereavement, loss, or bullying. The successful candidate will demonstrate resilience, empathy, and the ability to engage effectively with families to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
