About The Role

Exciting opportunity for a Project Worker, based in our Newhaven Foyer, key working a caseload of young people who are homeless or who have recently experienced homelessness.

At Salvation Army Homes, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, good quality housing services, support, and resettlement.

The Project Worker will work with young people who have experienced homelessness in a psychologically informed environment (training provided) and will engage creatively with clients to:

  1. Grow their strengths and talents
  2. Develop their skills and resources to transform their lives
  3. Support tenancy sustainment
  4. Improve understanding of financial management
  5. Enable better health and wellbeing
  6. Move on to independent living

About You

You will be passionate about making a difference and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will work in a manner that aligns fully with our delivery values and behaviors, demonstrating energy, passion, and a positive, can-do attitude in your daily contribution to transforming lives.

You will be able to:

  1. Motivate young people to recognize and unlock their talents to achieve their full potential
  2. Engage and relate to young people aged 16-25 years
  3. Build trusting, professional relationships and have a high level of resilience
  4. Take an asset-based approach to empowering people to develop their skills, strengths, and talents
  5. Support clients to sustain their accommodation and manage their license agreement
  6. Have good knowledge or experience of working with homeless people, and/or supporting vulnerable groups
  7. Be familiar with wider community resources and organizations to support clients, and be comfortable dealing with complex situations
  8. Apply safeguarding principles and practices as a core part of your work
  9. Participate in a shift rolling rota system over 7 days
