Job summary

National Highways are inviting applications for a Project Support Officer within the Enhancements team in Major Projects. The role supports capital investment projects, coordinating project and administrative tasks across stakeholders to meet time, quality, and budget targets.

The position is based in Leeds or Manchester with travel to other offices and a minimum of two days per week in the office or on site.

• Support governance and assurance requirements including stage gates, audits and health checks.
• Assist with project management products such as plans, risk registers, action logs, benefits registers and stakeholder engagement plans.

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Project Support Officer to join our Enhancements team in Major Projects. As a Project Support Officer, you will support and enable the delivery of capital investment projects in the Major Projects directorate. The broad scope of this role encompasses the delivery and coordination of project and administrative support to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to time, quality and within budget.

The position will be based from either of our Leeds or Manchester offices; however, travel to other offices/sites within the region will be required, and a minimum of two days per week will be expected in the office or on site.

• Provide comprehensive project support for project management activities including finance, document control and scheme governance ensuring the accuracy and quality of project data and compliance.
• Develop and sustain effective working relationships with key stakeholders in National Highways and the supply chain.
• Enable and support effective information management including the maintenance of high-quality project products and records in accordance with National Highways Policies and Procedures and legal requirements.
• Support with project / programme governance and assurance requirements including stage gate assessments, independent audits, and project health checks.
• Assist with project management products including project plans, risk registers, action logs, benefits registers, and stakeholder engagement plans.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
