Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Support and guide Project Sales Engineers to apply the most economical solutions fulfilling technical requirements, considering previous solutions and new developments, with input from relevant departments.
- Guide technical proposals and prepare necessary documentation in line with internal guidelines and policies.
- Visit customers as needed, discuss and present products, systems, and technical solutions.
- Assist Project Sales Engineers in approving Pre-Calculations with product structures.
- Act as a technical/project mentor throughout the project lifecycle, from technical concept to First Article Inspection (FAI), and support Customer Service during the product lifespan.
- Study customer requirements, research manufacturing/assembly methods and materials, and propose product improvements (SQDC).
- Ensure project implementation meets customer requirements with maximum profitability.
- Monitor financial aspects of projects including SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
- Represent the company in escalation meetings and discussions with customers regarding technology, timing, and finances. Initiate change orders and additional sales.
- Develop and manage the department budget to meet financial and cost objectives, review performance data and KPIs.
- Lead, coach, and develop staff, including onboarding and career development planning.
- Use performance management processes to delegate responsibilities, set goals, conduct appraisals, and provide feedback.
Key Requirements
- MSc degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical.
- 5+ years relevant work experience plus 3+ years rail experience.
- Strong technical understanding of rail products.
- Ability to anticipate customer needs and develop innovative solutions.
- Proven leadership in project management, capable of planning, executing, and motivating teams.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, capable of leading remotely, clarifying project scope, and taking corrective actions.

- Salary circa £55,000 - £60,000 DOE
