Job summary

Hays Construction & Property is supporting a leading privately-owned Scottish contractor in Western Glasgow to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor for a flagship £80m development.

You will own commercial management across a major package, working with the Commercial Manager to ensure robust financial control, risk management and performance throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers exposure to senior stakeholders and rapid career progression.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Experience in a main contractor environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractor accounts and project reporting.

Responsibilities

• Managing subcontract procurement from tender through to final account.
• Preparing and submitting valuations, applications and variations.
• Monitoring project costs, budgets and forecasting.
• Identifying and mitigating commercial risks and opportunities.
• Producing accurate cost reports and supporting project financial reviews.
• Negotiating subcontract accounts and maintaining strong supply chain relationships.
• Working collaboratively with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.

The Opportunity

As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial management of a significant package of works on this landmark development. Working closely with the Commercial Manager and wider project team, you will be instrumental in ensuring robust financial control, risk management and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
