Job summary

Fawkes and Reece in Cardiff seeks an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of a flagship development. You will drive costs, procurement and contractual matters from pre-construction through to project completion, working closely with the Project Manager, site team, subcontractors and consultants.

The successful candidate will bring proven Project QS or Senior QS experience, a strong understanding of subcontract procurement, and a track record on complex schemes,

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project QS or Senior QS within the construction industry.
• Strong experience on concrete frame structures is essential.
• Experience on large-scale or complex developments.
• Understand subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Excellent commercial and contractual awareness.
• LWSF experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a wider project team while managing own commercial responsibilities.

We are working with a leading development and regeneration specialist who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a flagship development in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the financial and contractual management of a major project, working closely with the wider delivery team to ensure the scheme is delivered on time and within budget.

The Role

As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of the project from pre-construction through to completion. You will work closely with the Project Manager, site team, subcontractors and consultants, managing costs, procurement and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.

The Successful Candidate

• Proven experience as a Project QS or Senior QS within the construction industry.
• Strong experience working on projects incorporating concrete frame structures - essential.
• Experience working on large-scale or complex developments.
• Strong understanding of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Excellent commercial and contractual awareness.
• Lightweight steel frame (LWSF) experience would be highly advantageous.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team while managing your own commercial responsibilities.
