Job summary

Brandon James is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor for its Cambridge-based cost management team. You will manage projects from feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction, and final accounts, working with senior surveyors and design teams across science, education, commercial and residential sectors.

The role offers strong client exposure, progression toward Senior Project Quantity Surveyor, APC support, and the chance to work on technically interesting Cambridge schemes

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• UK PQS experience in a consultancy is preferred.
• Strong pre- and post-contract QS knowledge.
• Experience preparing cost plans, estimates and tender documentation.
• Confident handling valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Experience across science/technology, education, commercial or residential sectors is advantageous.
• Good understanding of JCT contracts and UK procurement routes.
• MRICS qualification or active progression towards chartership.
• Strong communication, reporting and client-facing skills.
• Commercially aware with ability to manage projects with increasing independence.
• Aspiring Project Quantity Surveyor seeking long-term progression.

Responsibilities

A well-established Cambridge property consultancy is looking to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor to join its cost management team. The successful Project Quantity Surveyor will work across science and technology, education, commercial and residential projects throughout Cambridge and the wider region.

The Project Quantity Surveyor's Role

The Project Quantity Surveyor will manage commissions from early feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account.

Working with experienced senior surveyors, clients and design teams, the Project Quantity Surveyor will provide practical commercial advice across a varied portfolio, including technically detailed research, workplace and development projects.

This would suit a Project Quantity Surveyor who already has UK consultancy experience and is ready to take greater ownership of projects. The Project Quantity Surveyor will gain strong client exposure, broaden their sector knowledge and continue progressing towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

The Project Quantity Surveyor

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
