Job summary

Bimplus, a leading main contractor, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for an upcoming £180 million scheme in Southampton. You will be site-based for the next four years and report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor.

You will manage pre-construction activities, procure sub-contract packages, handle variations and valuations, and produce monthly CVRs and cost reports.

Qualifications

• Full right to work in the UK.
• Experience with main contracting background.
• Experience administering JCT/ NEC forms of contract.
• Willingness to commute to site in Southampton.

Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a highly regarded main contractor based on an upcoming scheme in Southampton . you will be site based for the role over the next 48 months and working for this respected main contractor who turn over £ 2 billion and are renowned for major projects

The business operates out of regional offices across the UK and works across the public and private sectors, undertaking projects across the education, health care, defence, commercial and leisure sectors valuing up to £500mil. Projects are administered via a mix of JCT and NEC forms of contract.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor:

As Quantity Surveyor, you will either be responsible for managing your own project or be part of the commercial team on a larger scheme. You will be reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor.

The project

The scheme is a new build £ 180 million project over the next 4 years delivering new info structure , 5 new RC framed blocks of student accommodation and associated faculty buildings /leisure / car parking and communal areas over the course of the programme

Key Responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor:

• Involvement in pre-construction activities
• Procuring of sub-contract packages
• Dealing with variations / valuations to the client
• Cost reporting and conducting monthly CVR's to report to the MQS

Key Requirements for this Quantity Surveyor role:

• Have the full right to work in the UK
• Come from a main contracting background
• Be experienced in administering JCT / NEC forms of contract
• Be happy to commute to site in Southampton
