Job description

Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting for a Project Planner to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA).

The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this, there are a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8.

What will you be doing as our new Project Planner?

As a core member of the SPA Integrated Delivery Team, you will work across multi-disciplinary teams to develop robust planning and provide reliable, accurate project status updates. You will collaborate with SPA Project Installation and Assembly Managers (PIAM), Functional Leads, Design, Delivery Managers, and Pre-Construction Managers to map out project delivery requirements and their relation to the SPA delivery programme. You will also plan future works, track actual progress on site, liaise with Design Managers, Project Leads, and Delivery Managers from all partner organisations, and provide early notifications of potential issues affecting project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop project schedules to manage design, procurement, and construction activities within the programme in line with SPA and Anglian Water policies.
2. Collaborate across multi-partner and multi-disciplinary design teams.
3. Support the Solutions Engineering and Production teams with ideas to improve efficiencies.
4. Engage with PIAM, Design Team, Supply Chain, SPA PMO, and wider delivery teams.
5. Produce P6 schedules adhering to SPA and Anglian Water standards.
6. Provide accurate monthly progress reports to support Earned Value Management (EVM).
7. Assist in managing changes affecting schedules and progress.

Skills, Experience, and Behaviours

1. Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams with a track record of managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
2. Experience in planning across all project phases, including civil, mechanical, infrastructure, and non-infrastructure work.
3. Proficiency in P6 project and programme management software, especially in large projects.
4. Ability to communicate complex planning strategies effectively to the wider team.
5. Knowledge of Project Controls, including Earned Value Management and Schedule Risk Analysis.
6. Experience in coordinating subcontractor and design programmes.
7. Planning experience within the water industry, ideally with a Main Contractor on large infrastructure projects.
8. Experience with Scheduling and Reporting within an NEC contract framework.
