Job summary

Technica Ltd is seeking a Project Planner to bring structure, accuracy and momentum to our engineering and construction projects from bidding through to completion. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will turn project scope into practical programmes that support delivery to specification and budget.

The role requires a minimum of five years in a planning position, strong NEC/JCT contract knowledge, and proficiency with Primavera and MS Project.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in a similar planning role.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contract types.
• Proficiency in Primavera, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and report-writing skills; ability to work to tight deadlines across multiple projects.
• Degree or professional qualification in construction or engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering and construction programmes and track progress against baselines.
• Provide delay analysis and mitigation reports.
• Coordinate procurement and supply chain inputs and long-lead items.
• Work with engineering, design, commercial and construction teams to reflect practical methods of delivery.
• Monitor critical paths, identify risks and suggest mitigations.
• Capture changes to scope, programme and resources and update plans accordingly.
• Produce timely progress reports on planning status, changes, risks and options.
• Ensure planning compliance with NEC/JCT requirements and company processes.
• Use planning software effectively and seek process improvements.
