Job summary

A leading company in electro-mechanical products is seeking a Project Planning Specialist to join their new projects team in Surrey. This permanent role requires strong planning skills, relevant qualifications, and experience in project management. The successful candidate will ensure projects are well-structured and adhere to planning standards, while collaborating closely with Project Managers and PMO Analysts.

Qualifications

  • Approx. 5 or more years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of using advanced toolsets in project planning.

Role- Project Planning Specialist / Project Planner

Salary- Dependent on experience (please advise what you’re looking for)

Type- Permanent

Location- Surrey

My client designs and manufactures electro-mechanical products and they are looking to take on a Project Planning Specialist for a new projects team, on a permanent basis, in the Surrey area.

The Project Planning Specialist will ideally have the following attributes:

- BEng/ BSc qualification or similar in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- Approx. 5 or more years of experience in a similar Project Planning / Project Manager role
- Previous experience working in a product environment (mechanical, software, hardware, service etc.)
- Previous experience operating Planning and Estimating standards
- Experience of using advanced toolsets in the production of project planning schedules
- Prince2, PMI or APM qualification would be desirable but not essential
- Excellent proficiency working with MS Office
- Have excellent communication skills

The Project Planning Specialist role will involve:

- Ensuring that each project is developed with a well-structured plan
- Producing and maintaining project schedules
- Working closely with Project Managers and also PMO Analysts
- Developing project planning deliverables in line with company standards – Stage Plans, Estimating Approach, Cost Breakdown etc.
- Identifying resource requirements
- Providing accurate forecasts
- Ensuring that projects adhere to project planning standards
