Job description

Role- Project Planning Specialist / Project Planner

Salary- Dependent on experience (please advise what you’re looking for)

Type- Permanent

Location- Surrey

My client designs and manufactures electro-mechanical products and they are looking to take on a Project Planning Specialist for a new projects team, on a permanent basis, in the Surrey area.

The Project Planning Specialist will ideally have the following attributes:

- BEng/ BSc qualification or similar in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- Approx. 5 or more years of experience in a similar Project Planning / Project Manager role
- Previous experience working in a product environment (mechanical, software, hardware, service etc.)
- Previous experience operating Planning and Estimating standards
- Experience of using advanced toolsets in the production of project planning schedules
- Prince2, PMI or APM qualification would be desirable but not essential
- Excellent proficiency working with MS Office
- Have excellent communication skills

The Project Planning Specialist role will involve:

- Ensuring that each project is developed with a well-structured plan
- Producing and maintaining project schedules
- Working closely with Project Managers and also PMO Analysts
- Developing project planning deliverables in line with company standards – Stage Plans, Estimating Approach, Cost Breakdown etc.
- Identifying resource requirements
- Providing accurate forecasts
- Ensuring that projects adhere to project planning standards
