Job summary

Circet UK is seeking a Project Planner to support Programme Managers and Delivery teams on a diverse portfolio of rail, transport, and energy infrastructure projects in the UK. You will plan, schedule, forecast, and coordinate resources to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.

The role focuses on rail and transport infrastructure initially, with opportunities to contribute to energy projects.

Qualifications

• Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and coordination skills.
• Experience working within infrastructure, construction, rail, transport, utilities, or engineering environments.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Project planning tools.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
• Strong understanding of project delivery processes and resource management.
• A collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
• Commitment to high standards, quality delivery, and a right-first-time approach
• Experience within rail, transport infrastructure, utilities, energy, civil engineering, or major infrastructure projects (diserable)
• Knowledge of project planning methodologies and construction delivery within regulated infrastructure environments.
• Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent planning software.
• Understanding of Network Rail, National Highways, energy infrastructure, utility, or construction project delivery frameworks would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Planning, coordinating, and monitoring the delivery of rail and transport infrastructure projects.
• Monitoring and reporting project progress, milestones, risks, and resource requirements.
• Planning and coordinating internal and external resources for civils, construction, signalling, or trackside activities.
• Supporting project teams in developing and maintaining project schedules and work programmes.
• Ensuring health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements are incorporated into planning.
• Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to resolve scheduling issues.
• Reviewing project documentation to ensure alignment with objectives.
• Providing regular updates and progress reports to Programme Managers and stakeholders.
• Coordinating materials, plant, and resource requirements.
• Maintaining accurate project records and updating management systems.
• Assisting with possession planning, access arrangements, and stakeholder coordination.
• Supporting continuous improvement of planning and project controls processes.
• Supporting planning across Rail, Transport Infrastructure, and Energy Infrastructure projects.

The Project Planner will support the Programme Manager and Project Delivery teams across a diverse portfolio of rail, transport, and energy infrastructure projects.
