We are looking for a Senior Project Planner to join our Expanded team on a prestigious project in West London.

Since 2021, our Expanded team has been actively involved in constructing the main station box at HS2's Old Oak Common.

Last month, Expanded completed the construction of the base slab supporting the new HS2 station in Old Oak Common. This achievement involved 91 concrete pours, each between 600 and 1,100 cubic metres.

Some key facts about the new base slab:

• It contains 76,000 cubic metres of concrete and 17,000 tonnes of reinforcement.
• With a surface area of 45,000m², it could fit more than six football pitches.
• It weighs 190,000 tonnes, heavier than 1,000 blue whales.
• At its thickest point, it measures 1.95 meters.

Delivering a challenging and dynamic scheme for the client is a significant achievement.

What will the role look like?

• Ensuring all programmes comply with project requirements, developing and agreeing on a logical sequence of events, and adopting the most economical construction strategies.
• Participating in pre-contract planning and work-winning processes to produce bid programmes and related information for tender submissions.
• Analyzing performance data, advising the project team on impacts, and recommending improvements.
• Contributing to risk, opportunity, and commercial evaluations of tender bids.
• Presenting time-related data effectively using various techniques, ensuring high-quality submissions and presentations.
• Developing processes and systems to manage contracts for complex projects.
• Conducting forensic analysis of programme data and collaborating with client teams to build relationships.
• Applying comprehensive knowledge of different contract types to align control measures with risk management and optimize commercial opportunities.
• Introducing advanced project management techniques within the business for use on complex projects.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• CIOB Membership.
• Experience with modelling, 4D planning, and proficiency in Asta or Primavera P6 (preferably both).
• Experience on major projects.
• Ability to analyze, compile, and utilize data for reporting and forecasting.
• Skill in prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.
• Lateral thinking skills to identify trends and issues in production data.
