Job description

MERITUS are recruiting for Project Planner to join our client in Bolton on an initial 6 month contract to work within the Defence industry. PLEASE NOTE - This is a Hybrid role with a 50/50 split expected on site in Bolton.

PROJECT PLANNER - INSIDE IR35 - £60 PER HOUR - 6 MONTHS - BOLTON - HYBRID - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

Responsibilities:

1. Analysing ongoing progress and performance, assessing this against contractual and internal targets - determining variance and its respective causes.
2. Preparing reports and recommending actions to maintain and or improve progress.
3. Establish and initiate the Sector / Projects Overall Project Schedule and ensure it is deployed and maintained to the Company Standard.
4. Support the development of Planning Skills across the Project Team, coaching Engineering, Production and Project Management team members in best practice Planning and Scheduling.
5. Integrate all Work package plans and ensure they are fully integrated to achieve an overall network to the company standard Deploy, manage and maintain the Projects Performance Measurement Baseline.
6. Support the Work package teams updating their plans on a monthly basis.
7. Produce, distribute and report Project Schedule Data as required, advising on conflicts and corrective actions.
8. Manage the Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology and apply when required.
9. Manage the Project Critical Path Analysis Process to the company standard.
10. Foster good working relationships with engineers and the broader community to embed the company's project control standards, systems and methods delivering accurate and quality project performance status data in a timely manner.

Skillset/experience required:

1. Possess a high level of competence and experience with Primavera and SAP PS and with industry standard computing applications (specifically spreadsheets).
2. Hold durable communication skills, capable of working in large teams with a complexity of skills (Engineering, Finance, Commercial, Project Management, etc).
3. Possess the appeal of working in a multicultural pan-European environment.
4. Have a proven level of Commercial and Financial management experience.
5. A proactive team player who can inspire others, is assertive and possesses strong negotiation and arbitration skills.
