What it's like to work here

Situated almost equidistant between Stafford and Rugeley, Shugborough is the best-known and most significant surviving historic house, designed landscape and estate within the county of Staffordshire.

What you'll be doing

We're about to start an exciting new chapter for Shugborough. You'll be responsible for ensuring all our key partners feel communicated with and engaged, at all stages of the project from concept to delivery. You'll look at ways we can fund the elements of the project and potentially submitting funding applications.

You'll also be responsible for developing key areas of the visitor experience bringing the property story to life through exciting and engaging interpretation as well as delivering the basics from toilets to property maps. You'll deliver play interventions, both large and small across the property in addition to developing the new ‘Explorer’s Wood’ play area.

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you, if you have:

  • a good understanding and working knowledge of delivering great visitor experience, understanding the needs of audiences and the production of exciting interpretation
  • an excellent organiser with good planning skills.
  • strong communication skills with evidence of communication planning and delivery
  • proven ability to review, collate and produce written materials in a clear and accurate way.
  • excellent influencing skills, enabling relationships to be built and maintained; comfortable at working with a wide variety of people
