Job summary

National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty is seeking a Project Officer to help produce the Welcome and Service manual, guiding membership, service, fundraising, admissions and more. You’ll own the project from concept to final publication, working with stakeholders and suppliers.

The role is a 5-month fixed term contract. You’ll be based at our Swindon head office with monthly in-office attendance and 40–60% of time on National Trust locations across the estate.

  • Experience creating informative manuals or guides for teams.
  • Ability to gather content from multiple stakeholders for a clear, structured document.
  • Experience coordinating with suppliers and overseeing design/formatting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Review the previous year’s manual and identify improvements.
  • Create the annual New Developments document with membership/recruitment updates.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to produce the document and oversee design/formatting.
  • Gather content from stakeholders and ensure clarity, accuracy and structure.

Asan essential reference guide for our Welcome Teams, itcovers all things membership, service, fundraising, admissions, access and more.You'llcreate an informative,engagingand user-friendly guide that is pivotal to the work of our welcome and service teams

This role is a 5-monthfixed term contract.

What it's like to work here

You'll be joining our Growing Support (Operations) team, whoare responsible forbringing in 150,000 memberships each year.You’llhave a pivotal role in a key element of our work and will be included in lots of exciting projects as well as leading on the Welcome & Service Manual project. This is a great development opportunity for someone looking to join our Heelis team.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the officeapproximately onceper month. However, there is flexibility on where you are basethat times. You willbe requiredto work at a National Trust location (options are available across our estate) for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

You'llreview the previous year's manual, using feedback and internal reviews toidentifyimprovements.You'llcreate the annualNew Developmentsdocument, capturing key membership and recruitment updates.

You'llwork with suppliers to produce the document and oversee the design and formatting process.You'llgather and organise content from a range of stakeholders, ensuringit'sclear,accurateand well structured.

From concept to completion,you'lltake ownership of the project and deliver a high-quality final publication.
