Project Officer (Fieldwork)

Permanent Contract
Salary: £29,751 – £36,286 p.a. (dependent on experience)
Hours of Work: standard 37-hour week
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Officer to join the York Archaeology team in Nottingham (formerly Trent & Peak Archaeology).
York Archaeology is the trading name for the delivery of commercial archaeological services for York Archaeological Trust (YAT). The Trust combines world famous heritage attractions, with excavation, survey, consultancy, expert conservation services, research and an unmatched commitment to dissemination, engagement and public benefit.
We are building on the vision that led from the Coppergate excavation to the Jorvik Viking Centre, DIG, and the annual Viking Festival (https://www.jorvikvikingcentre.co.uk), with a pioneering spirit of innovation to deliver benefits from archaeology and cultural heritage.
To help in our mission we are looking for a Project Officer with the character and skills to deliver commercial contracts cost-effectively and to the satisfaction of clients. We are looking for someone who also has the ambition and drive to use this platform of discovery to help build the connections to secure positive social impacts through our shared heritage.

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, diligent and experienced Project Officer to join our field team. You will work largely independently, with guidance from our project managers, to set up and deliver various types of archaeological field project within set budgets and timescales. You will have demonstrable leadership, project planning and report-writing skills which you will be able to apply in challenging environments. A significant part of this role involves working away from home for long periods of time, for which accommodation will be provided.
As a CIfA Registered Organisation (RO), CIfA membership is encouraged amongst staff and would be advantageous to applicants.
