Job summary

Canal & River Trust is seeking a Project Manager to join the Project Delivery North team. You will plan and deliver third‑party funded projects across the North West region, managing low/medium risk initiatives with framework contractors to achieve timely outcomes.

You will work on projects valued from £50,000 to £1,000,000, coordinating with diverse stakeholders, ensuring safety, cost control and schedules are adhered to while supporting the organisation's wellbeing and community aims.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of project management processes and ability to deliver multiple projects
• Excellent communication with stakeholders and partners across diverse groups
• Experience with NEC ECC/PSC contracts and project finance control
• Proven budgeting, scheduling and cost-control capabilities

Responsibilities

• Manage projects per the Trust’s Health and Safety policy and standards, ensuring safe work practices
• Capture requirements, assess impact, and prepare a business case for investments
• Develop and monitor schedules with milestones to achieve objectives
• Provide financial management, budgeting and cost control against approved budgets
• Manage risks, issues and changes and maintain stakeholder communications
• Administer NEC contracts and supervise as defined, ensuring commercial control and compliance
• Assess environmental impacts and ensure required controls are implemented
• Handover the project in a controlled manner with lessons learned
• Promote Trust values, wellbeing and inclusive practices in all activities
