Job summary

Murray McIntosh Associates Ltd in Somerset is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee wastewater capital delivery, with ownership of schemes from development through handover on a major capital programme.

The role requires coordinating internal and external teams, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring NEC contract compliance within a hybrid working setup. 12 Months+ contract, daily rate 500-550, Somerset-based.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering wastewater or utility infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing capital projects valued between 5m and 15m.
• Strong experience managing consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of project controls, programme management, budget management and risk management processes.
• Experience working under NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing the successful delivery of wastewater capital projects valued between 5m and 15m.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary teams including internal engineering, operational, commercial and construction functions.
• Managing external consultants, designers and technical advisors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Overseeing all project phases from concept and detailed design through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Managing project budgets, programmes, risks and opportunities to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
• Ensuring compliance with NEC contract requirements, governance procedures and health and safety legislation.
• Working closely with Quantity Surveyors, Planners and delivery partners to monitor project performance and key milestones.
• Leading project reporting activities, providing updates on progress, costs, risks and delivery objectives.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, regulators and local authorities.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks at the earliest opportunity to minimise programme and cost impacts.
• Reviewing consultant deliverables and challenging technical proposals to ensure quality, value and deliverability.

Project Manager - Wastewater Capital Delivery

Contract: 12 Months+
Location: Somerset / Hybrid Working
Rate: 500 - 550 per day

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a portfolio of wastewater capital schemes across Somerset.

Working within a major capital investment programme, you will take ownership of projects ranging from 5m to 15m, managing schemes from the development and design phase through construction, commissioning and final handover.

This role will see you working closely with internal delivery functions, engineering consultants and capital delivery partners, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, budget and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do
