Project Manager – Technical Operations Heavy Lift Logistics

Location Options:

  • Greater Bristol
  • Newcastle

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: 37.5 per week (additional hours may apply, with uplift and overtime rates)

As a leading provider in technical operations and heavy lift logistics, we are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee complex projects across sectors including renewables, oil & gas, and civil infrastructure. This role requires exceptional project management skills and the ability to handle technical, operational, and commercial responsibilities efficiently.

  • Performance-related bonus: up to 15% (£9,750), paid quarterly, consistently achieved in recent periods
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays

About the Role

Core Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Full responsibility for planning and executing technical operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet safety and quality standards.
  • Contract Management: Adhere to NEC contract forms, ensure projects follow terms, capture variations, and negotiate payment terms.
  • Risk Management: Manage risks related to commercial, operational, environmental, and safety aspects.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, assist with tendering, and secure new business.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Project Management Team to meet client needs and expand opportunities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or Navisworks is essential.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in operational, commercial, and technical delivery of heavy lift logistics and installations.
  • Proficiency in project management processes and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented approach.
  • Valid driving license and ability to pass security vetting for projects of national importance in the UK.
  • Master’s degree or higher in an engineering-related field.
  • Willingness to work from various site locations, including on-site project sites as needed.

  • Office locations are in Greater Bristol (North Somerset), Newcastle (North-East), and Nottinghamshire. Choose the closest location.
