Project Manager – HS2 Infrastructure Maintenance Depot
Project Manager responsible for overseeing the design and construction of the High Speed Two (HS2) Infrastructure Maintenance Depot located along the London‑Birmingham corridor. Lead and manage projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time, to budget, and within the required quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Establish project objectives, scope, and timeline, and communicate clearly to all relevant parties.
- Plan and manage project resources (personnel, equipment, materials) for efficient execution.
- Monitor and control project costs and budgets, reporting progress and risks.
- Manage project risks and issues, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Forecast work ahead of programmes and recommend extra resources or alternative processes when necessary.
- Identify and recommend solutions to design issues, considering engineering procedures and construction schedules.
- Manage the site team, addressing personnel issues and staff training and development.
- Interpret design specifications and work in partnership with sub‑contractors, considering environmental and community impacts.
- Ensure company procedures are implemented and that projects comply with health and safety regulations and other legal requirements.
- Contribute to the achievement of health and safety in accordance with company policy.
- Monitor and assess staff capability and performance, promoting company values in all dealings.
Qualifications
- Degree/Masters in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.
- Experience in construction, project management, or a related field.
- Proven track record of delivering construction projects on time and within budget.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.

- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands.
- Experience in building relationships with external parties.
- Significant construction technology knowledge and experience.
- Proven delivery of Design and Construct projects managing the supply chain under NEC Option (desirable).
- Temporary works experience / knowledge.
