Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting a Project Manager to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) with Anglian Water. You will oversee a multi-million pound project, leading a team to deliver safely, on time, and to budget, while meeting quality and environmental requirements.

The role focuses on delivering enabling and delivery phases, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety across the project lifecycle. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil / MEICA / Construction Management or equivalent.
• Experience delivering large-scale water infrastructure or linear projects.
• Experience leading multi-contractor, multi-discipline teams.
• Experience delivering design & build and managing budget, schedule and risk.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate programme level strategy into project outcomes and inform team of requirements.
• Ensure project resources are fully utilised and performance aligns with metrics.
• Deliver enabling and delivery phases within cost, time and quality parameters and mitigate issues.
• Manage full project lifecycle from enabling to handover, including warranty issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety standards.

Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Project Manager to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA).
The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8.

What will you be doing as our new Project Manager?

The role of Project Manager is a true Alliance role – with a sole focus on the delivery of projects and programmes. You will manage a team who will be responsible for the project to be delivered safely, on-time, to budget and in-line with quality, environmental, customer requirements and complies with Governance and processes.

You will oversee an element of the multi-million pound SPA project and will be responsible for the project throughout its full life cycle, utilising the team to manage conflicting needs and demands, ensuring they are deployed and fully utilised making the most of their strengths and skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for translating Programme level strategy into actual outcomes and Team members are informed of requirements for project.
• Ensure the project team resources are fully utilised, and their performance and output is in line with company performance metrics, dealing with performance issues where they may arise.
• Responsible for the delivery of Enabling phase of the project and elements in delivery phase of project ensuring that these projects are kept ‘on track’ by own team to agreed cost, time and quality parameters and any arising issues mitigated appropriately.
• Responsible for full project lifecycle from Enabling, construction, project handover, formal sign off and managing any warranty issue that arise post-handover.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement in Health & Safety (H&S), ensuring consistent H&S standards are maintained.

• A degree in in Civil / MEICA / Construction Management or relevant subject
• Experience in leading and delivering large-scale projects of work, including water infrastructure or large-scale linear projects
• Experience leading multi-contractor, multi-disciplined teams, unifying them into an industry leading delivery team.
• Experience of delivering design and build, large construction projectsThe ability to perform against a tight budget through effective programme development, risk and opportunity management
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
