Job summary

Amey in York is seeking a Permanent Project Manager – Signalling Rail to join the Eastern and Southern team. Hybrid working, 37.5 hours per week, responsible for managing and delivering small to medium signalling projects through the ERP framework, while building strong customer relationships and ensuring programme and budget compliance.

  • Knowledge of product acceptance processes for signalling systems.
  • Experience managing budgets up to 2 million.

Responsibilities

  • Mobilise projects in line with business requirements and produce core documentation.
  • Ensure projects meet critical success factors, acceptance criteria and quality expectations.
  • Define deliverables and manage third-party resources per Amey policies.
  • Plan, execute and close projects within deadlines and budget.
  • Apply PRINCE2 principles and ensure health, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Forecast, monitor and report financial performance monthly and manage risks.
  • Maintain stakeholder liaison and coach project team members.
  • Ensure quality delivery and use data analysis to drive improvements.
  • Document case studies to support future bids and bid development.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for aPermanent Project Manager – Signalling Rail to join our dynamic Eastern and Southern team at York. 37.5 hrs per week -Hybrid working.

In this role, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of small to medium sized signalling projects, predominantly through the ERP framework, to contract specification and programme, while building and sustaining long term customer relationships.

This role offers you the unique opportunity to work with one of NR main contractors on Signalling and OLE frameworks across the Eastern region.

What You’ll Do:
  • Project mobilisation in line with core Business requirements including production of core project documentation.
  • Ensure projects meet critical success factors, project acceptance criteria and customer quality expectations
  • Defining products / specific deliverables to be delivered by the project
  • Ensuring that the engagement of any third-party project resources is managed in accordance with Amey procedures and policies
  • Planning, executing and finalising projects according to agreed deadlines and within budget
  • Applying appropriate PRINCE2 principles to the management of projects in line with agreed Amey procedures and standards
  • Ensuring project compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental and other appropriate regulations
  • Forecasting, monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of the project, through regular (minimum monthly) reports, comparing actual and forecast performance for costs, programme, risk and safety inc variations
  • Maintaining regular liaison with all stakeholders (external & internal) and employees on the progress of projects
  • Managing, coaching and motivating members of the project team
  • Ensure that the project / programme is able to deliver to the required quality, on time and to budget
  • Use appropriate tools and techniques to analyse data, identify root causes and generate solutions
  • Documenting any relevant case studies that can be used to support future bids and support bid development
  • Identify and manage ongoing continuous improvement opportunities and margin improvement opportunitiesEnsuring sign off from relevant stakeholders that the project deliverables meet the stated requirement

What You’ll Bring:
