Job summary

Pertemps North West and North Wales is recruiting a Project Manager to join a Knowsley-based engineering and manufacturing business. The role involves managing customer projects from order to handover, coordinating across departments to hit milestones and budgets, and maintaining ERP records.

You will coordinate meetings (Kick Off, PDR, CDR), support costings and planning, and monitor profitability while driving improvements. APM/PMP/PRINCE2 qualifications are beneficial but not required.

• Strong organisation and communication skills with a commercial mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer projects from order through to final handover, ensuring milestones, costs and deadlines are met.
• Coordinate activity across Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance and Quality.
• Support quotations, product costing, project planning and customer requirements.
• Organise and lead project meetings (Kick Off, PDR, CDR).
• Maintain accurate project information in the ERP system and documentation.
• Monitor project profitability and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Handle customer returns and complaints with Quality team.
• Support new product introductions, R&D projects and NRE activity.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and effective project communication.

Project Manager / Project Coordinator

Location: Knowsley

Salary: £35,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: 08:00 – 16:30 Mon – Thurs / 08:00 – 13:00 Fri

Job Type: Permanent / Full-time

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Knowsley.

Strong ERP and Excel skills are essential, ideally with experience using Syteline 10 or CSI9. A formal Project Management qualification such as APM, PMP or PRINCE2 would be beneficial, but we are keen to speak with professionals from a range of backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customer projects from order through to final handover, ensuring key milestones, costs and deadlines are achieved.
• Coordinate activity across Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance and Quality.
• Support quotations, product costing, project planning and customer requirements.
• Organise and lead project meetings, including Kick Off, PDR and CDR meetings.
• Maintain accurate project information and documentation, including within the ERP system.
• Monitor project profitability and identify opportunities for cost reduction and recovery.

About You

You may come from a traditional Project Management background, or have strong engineering/manufacturing experience with responsibility for coordinating customer orders, production or technical projects.

• Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or technical environment.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• A commercial approach with an understanding of costs and project profitability.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across different departments.
