Job summary

RTL Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead fit-out, refurbishment and workplace schemes for a London-based client portfolio. You will own delivery end-to-end on schemes up to £5M, reporting through dashboards and enabling clear visibility of progress for prioritisation across the portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, project management or a related subject.
  • Seven years or more of professional project management experience.
  • Track record of client-facing delivery in a fast-moving environment.
  • Solid grasp of contract administration, procurement and project governance.
  • Sound working knowledge of HSEQ requirements.
  • Strong commercial awareness and confident communication at every level, from site teams to senior client leadership.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and standard project management and reporting software.

Responsibilities

  • Running schemes through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Keeping delivery within scope, budget, programme and quality standards.
  • Writing and maintaining execution plans, delivery strategies, programmes and risk registers.
  • Contributing to pre-construction work including buildability reviews, sequencing and mitigation planning.
  • Closing schemes out properly: snagging, T&C follow-up, practical completion, handover documentation and warranties.
  • Leading tendering, contractor selection, bid evaluation, negotiation and contract administration.
  • Tracking financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, cost control, change management, invoicing and final accounts.
  • Flagging risks and constraints early and putting corrective action in place.
  • Acting as the day-to-day point of contact for the client and key stakeholders.
  • Pulling together consultants, contractors, suppliers, FM teams, landlords and client representatives.
  • Chairing progress meetings, workshops and decision-making forums.
  • Reporting up through dashboards, status updates, financial summaries and board-level presentations.
  • Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the project management team

About the Client

Our client is a global real estate contractor responsible for a wide portfolio of assets across the UK and internationally. With a growing programme of works across their London portfolio, they are looking to secure a strong project management team and are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of principal delivery.

The Opportunity

This Project Manager position sits at the centre of the client relationship, running fit-out, refurbishment and workplace schemes with individual values of up to £5M from first briefing through to handover. Alongside running live projects, the Project Manager will keep oversight of the wider portfolio through the client's project tracker, giving accurate reporting and clear visibility of where every scheme stands so that priorities can be set sensibly across the board.

What You'll Be Doing
Running the projects
  • Taking schemes through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and final handover
  • Keeping delivery within agreed scope, budget, programme and quality standards
  • Writing and maintaining execution plans, delivery strategies, programmes and risk registers

About You

The right Project Manager will have at least seven years in project management across construction, fit-out, refurbishment, workplace or capital works, and will be comfortable operating client-side with minimal supervision. This is a role with real autonomy, so the ability to make decisions, solve problems and manage competing priorities without waiting to be told is what will set candidates apart.

Essential
  • Degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, project management or a related subject
  • Seven years or more of professional project management experience
  • Track record of client-facing delivery in a fast-moving environment
  • Solid grasp of contract administration, procurement and project governance

Desirable
  • PMP, PRINCE2, RICS, CIOB or equivalent professional certification
