Job description

Currie & Brown are growing their Sydney-based team and are looking for an experienced Project Manager with commercial office fit-out experience to join us. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a team of highly skilled professionals in a client-facing position, allowing you to shape your future project management career.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Working autonomously and as part of a team to deliver project tasks.
  2. Managing projects in accordance with contractual requirements using Currie & Brown guidelines and project management tools.
  3. Planning and delivering construction projects from concept to completion.
  4. Preparing or assisting in the preparation of site assessments, due diligence reports, cost reports, project control group reports, construction reports, and completion reports.
  5. Managing internal and external project stakeholders, including consultants and contractors.
  6. Overseeing design development, coordination, reviews, and approvals during planning and construction phases.
  7. Managing procurement processes, including reviewing trade tender packages.
  8. Appointing and managing contractors while maintaining probity requirements.
  9. Handling contract administration, including evaluating progress claims, variations, extensions of time, and completing documentation.
  10. Monitoring and managing project completion activities such as commissioning, handover, take-over, and addressing defects.
  11. Preparing project programs and monitoring progress against these schedules.
  12. Monitoring project costs to ensure adherence to the approved budget.
  13. Reporting on project performance against the schedule and budget.
  14. Liaising with local authorities to ensure compliance and proper authorization of works.
  15. Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  16. Implementing quality assurance systems to ensure high standards in design, construction, and administration.
  17. Seeking opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and strengthen client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Degree in construction, engineering, architecture, or project management.
  • At least seven years of experience working on various projects within consultancy.
  • Essential experience in commercial office fit-out projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Experience in advisory services such as risk management and workshop facilitation is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience.
