iO Associates is proud to be working with a renowned UK-based engineering organisation in their search for a Mechanical Project Manager to join their Mechanical Handling Division. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of complex, multidisciplinary turnkey projects, managing them from tender through to commissioning.
As a Mechanical Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the full project lifecycle of large-scale mechanical handling systems. This includes managing cross-functional engineering teams, preparing estimates and tenders, liaising with clients and suppliers, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
End-to-end project management of complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects.
Leadership of internal teams across estimating, design, and delivery phases.
Preparation of technical and functional specifications and tender documentation.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and statutory regulations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external suppliers.
Ensure full compliance with contract conditions (e.g., NEC or similar).
Minimum HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Proven experience managing complex mechanical engineering projects.
Demonstrable experience in project and contract management.
Experience with mechanical systems in large moving structures or mechanical handling.
Familiarity with NEC or equivalent contract frameworks.
Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
Working knowledge of the European Machinery Directive and statutory legislation.
