What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers Europe is looking for a Project Manager, ideally with experience of working within the insurance market, to join our team in London.

You will be the primary point of responsibility for the management and implementation of your assigned project(s) and workstreams within the European operation. You will manage and oversee the project plans, backlogs, work-stream activities, milestones, risks and issues and ensure a normalized approach across the project portfolio. You will also coach and mentor others outside the Project Management Office (PMO) in project management and Lean techniques, liaising with work stream leaders, business stakeholders, business analysts, and IT staff to meet goals and milestones.

Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full-time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro-rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.

This role is eligible for a £2,500 new joiner referral bonus. If you are successfully referred by an employee at Travelers Europe, both you and the referrer could be eligible for this bonus.

What Will You Do?
  • Work with supervision to manage, oversee, plan and execute the project(s) assigned - using appropriate methodologies, tools and techniques.
  • Coach and mentor non-PMO project managers in project management skills, and provide support on an ad-hoc basis as required.
  • Provide thought leadership to help the PMO leadership team model excellence in project management and delivery in Europe.
  • Operate within defined parameters of the Travelers methodology and the PMO, to accomplish project and program goals.
  • Ensure all project literature, artifacts, and analytics are up-to-date, proportionate, and of the required standard.
  • Help manage dependencies between projects and programs, understand risks, and ensure mitigation plans are managed appropriately.
  • Manage project resources effectively and provide clear direction.
  • Manage relationships at the executive level.
  • Act ethically at all times, understanding all compliance and regulatory requirements for your role by completing necessary training and certifications.
  • Ensure actions and outcomes meet local regulatory and supervisory standards to ensure fair treatment of customers. Keep records of all transactions with customers, brokers, and others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Experience working within the insurance market.
  • Certification in a structured Project Management Methodology, such as Prince2, ISEB, PMP.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment, with knowledge of Kanban.
  • Proven track record managing up to 8 work-streams and related projects, understanding change impacts, and liaising with stakeholders to develop project plans.
  • Thorough knowledge of developing Business Cases.
  • Business-focused, collaborative, and comfortable working at all levels with excellent negotiation, communication, mentoring, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to proactively identify and manage risks, and recommend re-scoping, postponement, or cancellation as needed.
What is a Must Have?
  • Proven track record in Project Management (Business and IT), with thorough knowledge of tools, techniques, planning, and dependency management.
  • Knowledge of various methodologies (agile, iterative, waterfall) and their application.
  • Experience in tracking costs and resources against projects.
What Is in It for You?
  • Private Medical Insurance: Single cover provided by Travelers, with options for dependents at your expense.
  • Retirement: Company contributions to your Pension Plan, with options for increased contributions.
  • Holiday Entitlement: Starting at 25 days, with options to purchase additional days up to 35 days annually.
  • Wellness Programme: Tools, discounts, resources, and access to mental health services.
  • Volunteer Encouragement: Support for community involvement through Matching Gift and Volunteer Rewards programs.
