Job summary

Project Manager – Great Arthur House

Contract: Fixed term until 31 March 2029

Location: Barbican Estate Office and Golden Lane Estate

Workplace Attendance Category: Hybrid – expected to be in the office at least 3 days per week or 60% of your working time in the office.

About the Role

The City of London’s Housing Service manages 12 estates totaling 5500 homes. Three of these estates are in the Square Mile (including the iconic Barbican Estate) and nine are in neighbouring London boroughs. Tenants and leaseholders are at the heart of everything we do, supporting us as we strive to effectively manage, maintain, and improve the property that is their home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver an ambitious capital programme of planned maintenance and refurbishment over the next 10 years.
  • Lead project and contract management for major works including window refurbishment, roof replacement, fire safety works, electrical upgrades and communal decorations on the Golden Lane Estate.
  • Coordinate resident decant programmes, requiring tact and resilience.
  • Manage communication with a range of customers and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Experience of project and contract management with sound construction knowledge.
  • Understanding of working client‑side (ideally).
  • Strong communication skills and experience dealing with a variety of customers and stakeholders.
  • Customer‑focused, with the right attitude, drive and enthusiasm.
