Job summary

TGS International Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead data centre connectivity deployments in Central London with travel to UK and international client sites. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate installation activities and maintain budgets and schedules to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Five years of project management experience on hyperscale data centre connectivity.
• Contractor-side delivery with responsibility for installation teams and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of fibre installations, structured cabling, rack infrastructure, testing and handover.
• Experience managing programmes, resources, budgets, variations and commercial risks.
• Excellent client communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Practical understanding of site health and safety and working in critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage connectivity projects from scope review through installation, testing and handover.
• Plan programmes, labour, materials and subcontractors to meet milestones.
• Lead engineers, site supervisors and subcontractors with safety, quality and productivity expectations.
• Oversee backbone fibre, cabling, rack installations and hardware deployment.
• Act as main client contact, providing progress updates and resolving delivery issues.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, variations and project risks with the commercial team.
• Coordinate works with other contractors and technical teams, manage site access and dependencies.
• Ensure installations meet specifications and safe working methods with risk assessments.
• Oversee testing records, installation documentation, snagging and final acceptance.

Location: Central London, on site, with travel to UK and international client sites as required

Job Type: Permanent / on-site

Salary: £70,000–£90,000 per annum, depending on experience

Our client is a specialist data centre infrastructure contractor delivering projects for hyperscale and enterprise customers internationally. Its connectivity division installs the physical network infrastructure that supports these environments, including backbone fibre, structured cabling, racks and hardware, with an increasing focus on high-density AI infrastructure.

You’ll manage the delivery of data centre connectivity projects, taking responsibility for site teams, programme, budgets and client relationships from pre-construction through to handover.

This role suits someone who understands the practical challenges of installation and can lead engineering teams while keeping projects commercially and technically on track.

Appointments at the upper end of the salary range will require a particularly strong track record delivering hyperscaler programmes and/or physical AI infrastructure projects.

What you’ll be doing

• Manage connectivity projects from scope review and mobilisation through installation, testing and handover.


• Plan programmes, labour, materials and subcontractor resources to meet project milestones.


• Lead engineers, site supervisors and specialist subcontractors, setting clear expectations for safety, quality and productivity.


• Oversee backbone fibre, structured cabling, rack installations and associated hardware deployment.


• Act as the main client contact, providing progress updates and resolving delivery issues.


• Manage budgets, cost forecasts, variations and project risks alongside the commercial team.


• Coordinate works with other contractors and technical teams, managing site access and programme dependencies.


• Ensure installations meet specifications, quality requirements and agreed safe working methods, including risk assessments and method statements.


• Oversee testing records, installation documentation, snagging and final client acceptance.

What you’ll bring

• At least five years’ relevant project management experience, with a proven record delivering physical connectivity packages on hyperscale data centre projects.


• Contractor-side delivery experience, including direct responsibility for installation teams and subcontractors.


• Strong technical knowledge of fibre installations, structured cabling, rack infrastructure and associated testing and handover requirements.


• Experience managing programmes, resources, budgets, variations and commercial risks.


• Confident client communication and the ability to resolve issues while maintaining strong working relationships.


• A practical understanding of site health and safety, quality control and working within critical environments.


• Willingness to work on site in Central London and travel to UK and overseas client sites when required.

Highly desirable / advantageous

• An “on the tools” background as a fibre engineer, data cabling engineer, cable technician or similar installation professional.


• Experience delivering physical AI infrastructure, particularly rack, hardware and high-density connectivity installations supporting NVIDIA GPU clusters.


• Experience delivering projects internationally.


• Relevant site safety qualifications and industry accreditations.
