Job summary

Advantage Resourcing UK Ltd is seeking a structured Project Manager for minor works across Filton, Bristol, and Newport. You will oversee a portfolio of small-to-medium capital and operational projects, delivering from feasibility through procurement, construction, and commissioning.

This role is hybrid with 80% onsite work, offers a 6-month initial contract and 35 hours per week, and requires CDM 2015 compliance, safety focus, and the ability to travel weekly between sites.

Qualifications

• NVQ L3/HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Facilities Management.
• Experience managing minor works or building services projects in live commercial or industrial environments.
• Understanding of building services (HVAC, electrical distribution, public health) and fabric maintenance/refurbishment techniques.
• Valid UK Driving License and ability to travel between Filton, Bristol, and Newport weekly.
• Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or SMSTS/SSSTS certification.
• Proven ability to juggle 10-20 fast-turnaround, low-complexity projects across 2 sites.
• Adherence to H&S standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a concurrent portfolio of minor works projects (up to £100k each) across Filton, Bristol and Newport.
• Ensure adherence to CDM 2015 regulations, building control, and internal quality metrics.
• Liaise with internal clients, facility managers, and site teams to minimize disruption during works.
• Manage project finances: scope, tendering, cost estimation, budget tracking, change control, final accounts.
• Supervise external consultants, M&E subcontractors, and main contractors with safety and quality control.
• Oversee site safety files, RAMS, permits to work, and site induction procedures.

Education

NVQ L3/HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Facilities Management

Minor works or building services project experience (live environments)

Understanding of building services (HVAC, electrical, public health)

Valid UK Driving License; weekly travel to Filton/Bristol/Newport

Project Manager – Minor Works

We are seeking a structured Project Manager with experience operating within Construction, defense, aerospace, or highly secure regulated manufacturing sectors.

The Role:

To oversee a portfolio of small-to-medium capital and operational projects across regional estate. You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery-from initial feasibility through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning-for multiple concurrent projects up to £100,000 in value.

This role covers across operational environments, including commercial office spaces, high-tech industrial facilities, and secure infrastructure. You will ensure all projects are executed safely, within budget, on schedule, and in full compliance with UK statutory standards and site security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a concurrent portfolio of minor works projects (individual values up to £100k) across Filton, Bristol, and Newport, ensuring adherence to CDM 2015 regulations, building control, and internal quality metrics.

• Liasewith internal clients, facility managers, and site operational teams to minimize disruption to live environments during works execution.
• Manage project finances, including scope definition, contractor tendering, cost estimation, budget tracking, change control, and final account settlements.
• Supervise external consultants, specialist M&E subcontractors, and main contractors-enforcing strict performance, safety, and quality control standards.
• Oversee site safety files, method statements (RAMS), permits to work, and site induction procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• NVQ L3/HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Facilities Management.
• Experience managing minor works or building services projects in live commercial or industrial environments.
• Understanding of building services (HVAC, electrical distribution, public health) and fabric maintenance/refurbishment techniques.
• Valid UK Driving License and flexibility to travel between Filton, Bristol, and Newport on a weekly basis.
• Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or SMSTS / SSSTS certified.
• Proven capability to juggle 10-20 fast-turnaround, low-complexity projects simultaneously across 2 sites.
• H&S Standards

Desirable

• APM/PMI qualification, MAPM status, or Prince2 Practitioner certification
• NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely or formal CDM Coordinator training.

Essential Requirements:

Ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC) - must meet standard UK nationality/residency eligibility requirements for Newport site access.
