Job summary

We Are Footprint in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a civils and groundworks background to lead key civils packages on a major transport and regeneration project in Bury.

You will manage groundworks, drainage, utilities, external works and interfaces with subcontractors, consultants and the client team to deliver safely, on programme and to the required quality. This is a site-based, multidisciplinary role requiring strong coordination and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Proven PM experience in civils/groundworks.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and work packages.
• Experience on major infrastructure projects would be beneficial.
• Ability to work around live/operational environments.
• Strong programme management and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of civils and groundworks packages from start through to completion.
• Coordinate groundworks, drainage, utilities, concrete, roads, paving and external works.
• Manage civils subcontractors and specialist contractors.
• Develop and monitor programmes, ensuring works remain on programme.
• Coordinate works around existing transport infrastructure and live operational areas.
• Work closely with Metrolink and project teams to coordinate interfaces.
• Manage site logistics, sequencing and construction methodology.
• Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Monitor progress, productivity and subcontractor performance.
• Work with commercial teams on variations and package costs.
• Attend progress meetings with client, consultants and project team.
• Ensure H&S and environmental requirements are met.

Project Manager - Civils / Groundworks

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong civils and groundworks background to manage the delivery of key civils packages on a major transport and regeneration project in Bury.

The role will have responsibility for the groundworks, drainage, utilities, external works and associated civils packages supporting the new interchange and Metrolink infrastructure.

You will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, Site Management and commercial teams, as well as subcontractors, consultants and the wider client team, to ensure the works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of civils and groundworks packages from start through to completion.
• Coordinate groundworks, drainage, utilities, concrete, roads, paving and external works.
• Manage civils subcontractors and specialist contractors.
• Develop and monitor programmes, ensuring works remain on programme.
• Coordinate works around existing transport infrastructure and live operational areas.
• Work closely with the Metrolink and wider project teams to coordinate interfaces.
• Manage site logistics, sequencing and construction methodology.
• Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Monitor progress, productivity and subcontractor performance.
• Work closely with the commercial team on variations, change and package costs.
• Attend progress meetings with the client, consultants and project team.
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with company H&S and environmental requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical and construction issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate project records and reporting.

Experience Required

• Proven experience working as a Project Manager within civils / groundworks.
• Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, utilities and external civils.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work packages.
• Previous experience on major infrastructure, transport, rail, highways or similar projects would be highly beneficial.
• Experience working around live or operational environments would be advantageous.
• Strong programme and coordination skills.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of subcontract packages.
• Ability to manage multiple interfaces and workstreams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
