Job summary

Henley Chase is seeking an experienced Project Manager for groundworks and civil engineering projects in Glasgow. You will lead site operations, coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors, and manage from inception to completion.

The role requires strong programme management, budget control and close liaison with clients and consultants. A full UK driving licence and relevant construction qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within groundworks, civil engineering or construction.
• Strong programme and project management skills.
• Commercial awareness with experience monitoring project costs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage groundworks and civil engineering projects from inception through to completion.
• Plan and coordinate site operations, labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Manage projects involving ground stabilisation and remediation.
• Oversee drainage, excavation and associated civil engineering works.
• Manage demolition and enabling works.
• Oversee foundation and substructure packages.
• Develop and monitor project programmes and delivery schedules.
• Manage project budgets, costs and commercial performance.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor quality, progress and site performance.
• Ensure projects comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Manage project documentation, reports and progress meetings.
• Identify and resolve issues to keep projects on programme.
• Ensure successful completion and handover of projects.

The Role

• Experience managing subcontractors, site teams and suppliers.
• Strong programme and project management skills.
• Commercially aware with experience monitoring project costs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements.
• Relevant construction qualification is desirable.
• SMSTS and CSCS required or advantageous depending on experience.
