Projects Manager

Department: Construction / Build Team

Responsible To: Construction Manager

Job Purpose:

To efficiently organise and manage projects from the completion of the design stage to the completion of build works on site.

Main Duties:

Undertaking all acts, tasks and things necessary in the managing of projects to completion of works on site including but not limited to the below:

  • Accepting instruction and detailed handover of works to commence build works.
  • Undertaking and properly documenting site visits to facilitate proper assessment and requirements of all aspects of a job.
  • Interpreting technical designs and drawings provided by the Groups internal Teams or external sources to accurately complete required works to the brief provided.
  • Devising construction programmes from start to finish, programmed to be compatible with deadlines, budgets and profit margins set and communicated from time to time.
  • Liaising with all parties including, but not limited to, warranty providers, building control, sub-contractors, clients, suppliers and on-site teams, as necessary to ensure clear communication to properly manage and oversee project management to completion.
  • Provide clear instruction and direction to all parties to a project ensuring professional standards are met and maintained throughout.
  • Provide clear instruction and direction to all parties to ensure works are completed to the design and brief specifications.
  • Ensuring variations to the works, programmes and costings are communicated efficiently to the appropriate parties.
  • Agree and properly document any agreed variations to the original design specification, brief and costings, ensuring these are tracked and promptly provided to parties for acceptance.
  • Preparing and issuing all necessary documentation for the completion of works including, but not limited to, risk assessments and method statements. Ensuring these are completed to the standard communicated from time to time and strictly using approved template documentation as varied from time to time.
  • Management of instructed sub-contractors in the undertaking and completion of works, ensuring professional standards meet the expectations of the Group.
  • Procurement of plant and materials necessary for the completion of works in a manner that ensures it is in keeping with the timescales set.
  • Continuously supervising and managing a job throughout.
  • In dealing with procurement of plants and tools, ensuring the appropriate personnel are informed for the proper updating of tracking logs.
  • Ensuring safe methods of works are followed at all times and liaising with the Group Health and Safety Manager as required.
  • Completing and maintaining the Groups database with progress from start to finish of individual projects/jobs efficiently and to the specification required.
  • Preparing and submitting invoices following the correct process as communicated from time to time and in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring and reporting on finances on individual jobs ensuring these are in keeping with targets and profit margins as communicated from time to time.

This is an immediate permanent opportunity for a well established business based in Worcestershire. The company does most of its' build work within the insurance / loss adjusting field, so the right person will have a good working knowledge of that market, with a specific focus on underpinning and foundations.
