Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a delivery-focused Project Manager to lead a major civil infrastructure project in the UK. You will own workstreams, coordinate site teams and ensure milestones are met safely, with quality and on programme.

Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, you will step up when required, drive planning and progress reporting, and maintain momentum across the project team while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Project Manager or similar delivery-focused role within civil engineering or major infrastructure.
• Strong technical understanding of civil engineering works and site-based delivery.
• Experience on highways or road infrastructure projects is advantageous.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a major infrastructure project, taking a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role in driving works forward and ensuring key milestones are achieved.

Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day management and delivery of the project, taking ownership of workstreams, coordinating site activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality and programme. You will also be expected to step up and lead in the Senior Project Manager’s absence, providing direction and maintaining momentum across the project team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong civil engineering background, with experience delivering complex infrastructure works. A highways background would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-time delivery of civil engineering works on a major infrastructure project.
• Take ownership of project workstreams, ensuring activities are delivered to programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, engineers and other key stakeholders to drive progress.

• Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Support the Senior Project Manager in the overall management of the project, taking the lead when required.

About You

• Proven experience in a Project Manager or similar delivery‑focused role within civil engineering or major infrastructure.
• A strong technical understanding of civil engineering works, with the ability to confidently manage site‑based delivery.
• Ideally, experience working on highways or road infrastructure projects.
• A hands‑on approach, with a strong focus on getting works delivered safely and efficiently.
• Confident leading site teams, managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple workstreams.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• The ability to take ownership, make decisions and step up to lead when required.
