Job summary

Mitchell Maguire seeks a Project Manager – Civil Engineering & Infrastructure works to lead and deliver site-based contracts across Yorkshire and surrounding areas. You will oversee projects up to £7m, typically £1–2m, with regular site visits to monitor progress, health and safety, quality and contractor performance.

Requires PM experience in civils/infrastructure, strong MS Office and Excel skills, excellent communication, teamwork and organisational ability.

Qualifications

  • Must have Project Management experience within civils, infrastructure, drainage or highways background.
  • Computer literate with MS Office, strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication across all levels; great team player.
  • High levels of organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site visits across Yorkshire, North East and North West to monitor progress and safety.
  • Review drawings, specs and project information to identify risks and requirements.
  • Prepare scopes, specs and methodologies; support tenders and pre-construction.
  • Coordinate clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Manage project costs, variations and forecasts; monitor programmes and adjust schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee projects valued up to £7m (typically £1m–£2m).

The role of the Project Manager - Civil Engineering & Infrastructure works will involve:
  • Project Manager position responsible for a range of civil engineering, infrastructure, drainage and highway contracts
  • Regular site visits across Yorkshire, North East and the North West to monitor project progress, health & safety compliance and contractor performance.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information to identify risks and requirements
  • Preparing scopes, specifications and methodologies while supporting tenders and pre-construction
  • Coordinating clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
  • Managing project costs, variations, forecasts and commercial performance
  • Monitoring programmes, identifying risks and delays, and implementing corrective actions
  • Ensuring projects meet health & safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements
  • Overseeing projects with a value of up to £7m although typically £1m-£2m
The ideal applicant will be a Project Manager - Civil Engineering & Infrastructure works with:
  • Must have Project Management experience within the civils, infrastructure, drainage, highways or come from a closely related background
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills)
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels both written and verbal
  • Must be a great team player
  • High levels of organisation
