Are you an experienced Assistant Project Manager, Agent, Site Agent or Project Engineer working in civil engineering and ready to step up into a Project Manager role?

This is a genuine step-up opportunity. You may not have held the Project Manager title before, but if you have the technical knowledge, site experience, commercial awareness and ambition to take responsibility for projects, we want to hear from you.

The business is entering an exciting period of growth following a recent acquisition, creating opportunities to work on increasingly complex infrastructure projects and develop your career within an expanding organisation.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, commercially, on programme and to the required quality standards.

You will work closely with clients, principal contractors, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage civil engineering and infrastructure projects from start to finish.
  • Take ownership of programme, cost, quality and health & safety.
  • Lead and support Site Agents, Supervisors and operational teams.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
  • Monitor progress against programme and manage project risks.
  • Manage client relationships and attend project meetings.
  • Support commercial management, including valuations, variations, forecasting and cost control.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications, RAMS and company procedures.
  • Manage project reporting, documentation and performance information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery, efficiency and profitability.

  • Experience coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Experience working to programmes and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving.
  • The ambition to progress into Project Management.

Previous Project Manager experience is not essential. We're interested in your capability, attitude and potential as much as your current job title.

  • Genuine opportunity to step into a Project Manager position
  • Career progression within a growing infrastructure business
  • Exposure to major civil engineering and infrastructure projects
