Job summary

A leading educational institution in Huddersfield is seeking a full-time Project Manager for its new Centre for Equity in Mental Health. You will be responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget, developing strategic plans, and managing resources. Candidates should have a degree and project management qualifications, along with significant experience in managing complex projects in relevant environments. Project Manager - Centre for Equity in Mental Health (CEMH)

Join the University of Huddersfield in establishing a new interdisciplinary research centre focused on mental health, funded by a major NIHR award. The centre will transform mental health research in Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield, creating a vibrant community and delivering step‑change outcomes for under‑served populations.

Responsibilities

Your role will be pivotal to the centre’s success: deliver projects on time, within budget and to high quality; develop and implement strategic plans; scope projects, identify and manage resources; evaluate performance against key deliverables and milestones; prepare internal and external reports; and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including centre leads Prof Michael Doyle and Prof Ann Caress.

Qualifications

You will hold a degree or equivalent experience, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and a recognised project management qualification (MSP, APM, PRINCE2) or equivalent. You should have substantial experience managing high‑value, complex, multi‑stakeholder projects in higher education, health, care, policy or a comparable environment, and be able to demonstrate successful completion of at least one such project.
