The University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre is recruiting a Project Coordinator to support a portfolio of AMRC projects. The role is hybrid, permanent, and involves ensuring timely project delivery across groups with a focus on finance status and reporting.

You will hold a key support role to a significant portfolio of programmes and projects within the AMRC and work across the whole portfolio of projects of varying lengths in duration in one of its research groups. There are opportunities to work across different research groups, but you will specialise in one of the core research groups initially. You will support and work closely with a team with understanding in the relevant fields of Research, Project Management and Development.
You will also aid in the development of portfolio and finance processes to improve performance. Policy support is a key aspect of the role within the portfolio and experience of this type of work is crucial. For this role, you will need to have a high standard of project delivery support experience especially within larger projects, programmes and portfolios of work, spanning multiple groups. Also, you should be able to manage your time effectively.

Have significant Project Coordinator / project support work experience.
Have client facing / customer service work experience at working team level
IT Skills across Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project intermediate to advanced standard.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, report writing skills, experience of supporting presentations.
Must be extremely organised with a methodical and structured approach to work, and good attention to detail.
Ability to track and support the finances within a large portfolio of work
Ability to analyse and solve problems with an appreciation of longer-term implications.
Experience of supporting a range of project management approaches including waterfall, hybrid and agile.
Has an awareness of Risk Management
Must have studied or hold a known project management qualification (PFQ, Prince 2, Agile etc) or demonstrable equivalent experience
Effective communication skills communicating to staff at all levels the organisations strategic plan and their personal contribution towards it
