Job summary

Sustainable Building Services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead retrofit and social housing projects across the UK, with a focus on the East Midlands & West Yorkshire region and York. You will oversee site teams, coordinate budgets, and ensure compliance with retrofit standards.

Candidates should have extensive construction leadership experience, SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years in construction management.
• Experience managing social housing/energy efficiency schemes.
• SMSTS certification.
• CSCS Card holder.
• First Aid certification.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• IOSH Managing Safely (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Set up each project: allocate site team, handover from estimating, budget review, procurement, and programme planning.
• Manage Site Managers, Supervisors, Tenants Liaison Officers and site operatives.
• Hold regular team briefings to communicate priorities and milestones.
• Ensure sites are resourced and supply chain adheres to programme.
• Monitor supply chain performance and contract requirements.
• Attend operations meetings and produce reports.
• Ensure properties meet contract specs and retrofit compliance; lodge with client deadlines.

Due to our exciting growth plans, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to support the Company’s ambitious expansion plans in the East Midlands & West Yorkshire Region as we continue to build teams across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Manage setting up each project, from allocating the site team, handover from estimating, agreeing budgets, reviewing retrofit information, sub-con procurement & formulating programmes.
• Day to day management of Site Managers, Site Supervisors, Tenants Liaison Officers and any Site Operatives under your control.
• Hold regular team briefings (formal and informal) to ensure that staff are kept informed of Programme priorities, changes and to review key project milestones.
• Ensure all sites are adequately resourced, both from a company perspective and the supply chain.
• Monitor the performance of the supply chain on a regular basis, ensuring all supply chain members are adhering to their programme and contractual requirements.
• Attend regular operations meetings and produce necessary reports.
• Ensure all properties are completed to the required contract specification standards and all retrofit compliance requirements are adhered to in order that all properties are lodged in line with client deadlines.

Skills

• High level of leadership and management skills with the ability to influence and mentor.
• Ability to plan and organise resources to meet tight deadlines whilst delivering high quality standards.
• Proficient in IT, particularly Outlook and Excel.
• Problem solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Experience of retrofit process, from assessments, designs and lodgements.
