Job summary

Egis is recruiting a Project Manager to support delivery of engineering services on a major UK nuclear infrastructure programme. You will coordinate across planning, scope, budget and delivery performance, working with the Egis Delivery Manager to ensure effective execution of the programme.

The role offers exposure to large multidisciplinary teams, complex stakeholder interfaces and established project management practices, with a path to more senior PM roles within Egis.

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Experience in a project coordination or assistant project management role, preferably in engineering or infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of planning, cost control, scope and risk management; able to produce clear reports.

Responsibilities

  • Support the EGIS Delivery Manager in day-to-day engineering delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Maintain integrated project schedules and monitor milestones; assist in variances and recovery planning.
  • Track scope, deliverables, changes and ensure reporting is accurate.
  • Support budget and cost monitoring including forecasts and cost performance.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports, dashboards and governance packs.
  • Coordinate reviews and meetings; ensure actions are captured and followed through.
  • Maintain project management registers and change logs; assist in lessons learned.

As a Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of engineering services for one of the UK's largest nuclear infrastructure projects. Working alongside the EGIS Delivery Manager, you will help coordinate project management activities across planning, scope, budget, reporting and delivery performance to ensure effective execution of the engineering programme.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the EGIS Delivery Manager in the day-to-day management of engineering delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Assist in maintaining integrated project schedules, monitoring progress against key milestones, identifying variances and supporting recovery planning where required.
  • Monitor project scope, ensuring agreed deliverables, assumptions and changes are accurately tracked and reported.
  • Support budget and cost monitoring by reviewing expenditure, resource utilisation, forecasts and cost performance against approved budgets.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project performance reports, dashboards and management presentations covering schedule, cost, scope, risks and delivery status.
  • Coordinate project reviews and progress meetings, ensuring actions are captured, assigned and followed through to completion.
  • Assist in maintaining project management registers, including action logs, decision registers, assumptions and lessons learned.
  • Support change management activities by helping prepare impact assessments, maintaining change logs and coordinating approvals.
  • Work closely with discipline leads and building managers to consolidate progress information, identify delivery risks and escalation of issues where appropriate.
  • Support resource planning activities by monitoring workforce requirements against programme needs.
  • Contribute to the preparation of client reports, governance packs and consortium reporting.
  • Promote effective project management practices, continuous improvement and collaboration across the engineering teams.
Qualifications
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a project coordination or assistant project management role, preferably within engineering, construction, infrastructure or energy.
  • Good understanding of project management principles including planning, cost control, scope management and risk management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret project data and produce clear reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience with project planning tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • APM, PRINCE2 or other project management qualifications (or working towards them) would be beneficial.
  • Interest in the nuclear sector or major infrastructure projects is desirable.
