Job summary

Element Materials Technology Ltd. seeks a Project Manager to lead infrastructure projects across accredited TIC laboratories.

You will coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, ensure regulatory and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement within a high-autonomy role near Warrington. The ideal candidate has a technical degree and strong PM experience in laboratory environments, with Lean Six Sigma underpinnings and professional PM certifications.

Qualifications

  • Strong project management capability delivering technical or laboratory infrastructure projects (regulatory, accreditation, quality).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt; Black Belt desirable.
  • Professional project management certification preferred (PMP/PRINCE2/APM).
  • Knowledge of accreditation frameworks such as ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, or similar quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate project plans, schedules, risk registers, and budgets reflecting constraints.
  • Provide clear, timely project reporting for governance and financial status.
  • Deliver FAT/SAT, calibration, validation, and handover documentation to TIC quality standards.
  • Coordinate infrastructure/equipment installations and ensure smooth transition to operation.

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Project Manager. Reporting to the Senior Cluster General Manager the Project Manager splits into two functions, operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role ensures all project outputs meet regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards while managing multiple concurrent projects of varying scale within the annual budget cycle. The manager coordinates cross-functional stakeholders—including laboratory teams, technical specialists, quality and compliance functions, procurement, suppliers, and senior leadership to align on scope, timelines, and operational impact.

Ideal base is near Warrington.

Infrastructure and equipment delivery

Leading the full lifecycle delivery of infrastructure projects across accredited TIC laboratories and test facilities

Continuous Improvement

The Project Manager plays a key role in driving continuous improvement across laboratory operations and business functions.

Responsibilities
  • Fully commissioned and validated testing equipment ready for operational use and compliant with
  • accreditation requirements.
  • Accurate project plans, schedules, risk registers, and budget forecasts that reflect real-world constraints and dependencies.
  • Clear and timely project reporting for internal governance, including progress updates, financial status, and risk mitigation actions.
  • Successful completion of FAT/SAT, calibration, validation, and handover documentation aligned with TIC quality standards.
  • Infrastructure and equipment installations that support reliable, repeatable, and auditable test results.Smooth transition into operational use with minimal disruption to ongoing testing activities.
  • Documented lessons learned and process improvements to strengthen future project delivery.
  • Number of improvement projects delivered on time and within budget.
  • Reduction in process cycle times and operational waste.
  • Measurable cost savings and efficiency improvements achieved.
  • Increased process standardisation and compliance performance.
  • Achievement of agreed project benefits and ROI targets.

Skills / Qualifications
  • Strong project management capability with experience delivering technical or laboratory-based infrastructure projects.
  • Deep understanding of the operational needs of a TIC environment, including accuracy, repeatability, traceability, and compliance.
  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Applied Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (typically minimum)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (desirable)
  • Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence certification.
  • Knowledge of Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, and Process Mapping methodologies
  • Proven experience delivering infrastructure or equipment-based projects within a TIC, laboratory, manufacturing, or regulated technical environment.
  • Familiarity with accreditation frameworks such as ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, or similar quality systems.
  • Experience managing third-party equipment suppliers, including specification development, FAT/SAT, and commissioning.
  • Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, APM) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory infrastructure requirements (e.g., utilities, environmental controls, safety systems).
  • Experience working with technical drawings, equipment layouts, and facility design documentation.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software
