Job description

From Puppy to Partnership: Help Transform Lives

Make a tangible difference in the vital work we do to help create life-changing assistance dogs for disabled people.

About Canine Partners

At Canine Partners, we breed, train, and support expert assistance dogs to create loving, life-changing partnerships with disabled people. Across the UK, we support people with a variety of physical disabilities and their families, carefully matching them with a dog that suits their needs, personality, and lifestyle.

Our dogs bring confidence and independence, love and companionship, reducing reliance on carers and giving people the freedom to live life their own way.

The Role

Position: Project Manager
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed Term (3 years)
Location: Homebased
Travel: Travel is infrequent (business travel expenses are reimbursed).

You will be a hands-on delivery lead, working with colleagues across the organisation to translate ideas into practical plans, remove barriers to progress and ensure projects deliver measurable benefits. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will lead a portfolio of strategic and operational projects that support the growth, improvement and sustainability of Canine Partners' services. This will include initiatives to enhance service delivery, increase organisational capability and support the development of new and innovative services for our beneficiaries. You will champion effective project management practices, governance and change management approaches, ensuring projects are delivered successfully and that intended outcomes are embedded into day-to-day operations.

You will help turn strategic priorities into practical action, coordinating activity across teams and maintaining focus on meaningful outcomes. This is a broad and varied role for someone who enjoys working with people across an organisation, bringing structure to complexity and helping turn good ideas into effective delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and manage project scopes, plans and delivery approaches, defining objectives, milestones, timelines, resource requirements and success measures.
  • Lead initiatives that improve the effectiveness, accessibility, quality and sustainability of assistance dog services
  • Lead the implementation and transition of new services, systems, processes and ways of working.
  • Monitor and evaluate project benefits, ensuring intended outcomes are achieved and embedded within operational practice.

About You

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects through the full project lifecycle, from initiation through to implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Strong project planning, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, including the ability to engage senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • A collaborative and practical approach, with a focus on achieving outcomes and embedding sustainable change.

Most importantly, you will be passionate about the transformative impact that our assistance dogs provide to our beneficiaries.

We anticipate the first interviews will be held on the 23rd or 24th November.

We recognise the benefit of diverse experience and welcome and encourage applications from all sections of the community. We are a disability confident committed employer.
