Job summary

SMS Group | Ship Repair | Marine Interiors | Marine Engineering | SC SQEP in Southampton with global travel is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead marine interior outfit projects from handover through to completion. You will oversee delivery across clients, suppliers and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

The role requires strong planning, budget control, and risk management, with a focus on health & safety across sites and effective stakeholder

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years experience within the marine or interior outfit industry.
  • Experience managing projects involving multiple trades and stakeholders.
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage marine interior outfit projects from handover to completion.
  • Plan project delivery, procurement, resource and logistics.
  • Lead project meetings and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor progress, budgets and schedules; identify risks and implement solutions.
  • Produce project programmes, financial reports and commercial documentation.
  • Support site resource planning and improvements where required.
  • Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained across all project sites.
  • Take ownership of smaller projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

Job description

Location: Southampton with Global Travel

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing interior outfit team. if you thrive in a fast-paced project environment and enjoy seeing projects through form concept to completion, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Working across the cruise, ferry, defense and superyacht sectors you'll play a key role in delivering high quality interior outfit projects around the world. From commercial handover through to onsite installation and project close out you'll work closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing marine interior outfit projects from handover through to successful completion
  • Planning project delivery, procurement, resource and logistics
  • Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
  • Leading project meetings and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitoring project progress, budgets and schedules, identifying risks and implementing solutions
  • Producing project programmes, financial reports and commercial documentation
  • supporting site resource planning and recommending improvements where required
  • Ensuring Health & Safety standards are maintained across all project sites
  • Taking ownership of smaller projects form start to finish where appropriate
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the business to deliver exceptional client outcomes

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys solving problems.

You'll ideally have:

  • At least 3 years experience within the marine or interior outfit industry
  • Experience managing projects involving multiple trades and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of marine sectors such as cruise, ferry, defense or superyacht (desirable)
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building abilities
  • Confidence using Microsoft office including excel. word and project
  • The ability to read technical drawings nad scopes of work
  • A keen eye for detail with strong commercial awareness
  • A collaborative, can do attitude and willingness to support the wider team
Requirements:
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Willingness to travel globally, sometimes at short notice
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of H&S
  • Compliance with company drug and alcohol policy including random testing
  • Ability to obtain SC level clearance
