Project Manager

Main duties of the job

Management of multidiscipline projects.

Implement standardised processes using project management good practice, methodologies, tools and techniques which are scalable and enable improvements in effective delivery of care and savings.

Develop the AI Hub scope, plan and business case for full implementation, taking into account the scale of implementation and individual directorate priorities. Develop the appropriate papers for the Trust Executive Group (TEG), Capital Investment Team (CIT) and Business Planning Team (BPT) to secure project approval.

Plan and co-ordinate the phases of the project, facilitating implementation with directorate teams ensuring that each project has clearly defined schedules and key milestones making project progress visible.

Ensure risks and issues are identified and countermeasures are in place. Where necessary ensure the appropriate escalation and corrective action to ensure these are resolved.

Provide regular project reporting and manage issue resolution and escalation as necessary.

The post is based within the Scientific Computing section of the Medical Imaging and Medical Physics department. The team culture in Scientific Computing is friendly and collaborative, and staff have a high level of autonomy within their roles. The section has links with the University of Sheffield and aims to make use of the latest innovations for the benefit of patients.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 18 months due to the post being externally funded. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts taking into consideration the ongoing source of the external funding and the requirement for the post to be maintained.

Education and Qualifications
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Post graduate qualification (or working towards) in relevant subject or demonstrable equivalent gained through a combination of short courses and experience or clinical experience and qualification.
  • Evidence of CPD.
  • Qualification in either Service/Quality Improvement, Organisational Development or Project Management
Experience
  • Experience of using quality improvement methods and techniques.
  • Experience of leading projects.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of working on projects including significant IT components
Personal Qualities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to form positive relationships and coach proactively and cooperatively at all levels.
  • Able to act on own initiative, judgement and to make decisions.
  • Outcomes focused with strong drive and motivation.
Skills and Knowledge
