Job summary

Smithers is Europe’s leading independent plastics and rubber specialist, seeking a Project Manager to join our Materials Testing team. You will develop and lead value-adding testing work programmes to meet sales and revenue goals while ensuring client requirements are met.

The role emphasizes business development, client relationships, and delivering technical reports and proposals. The successful candidate will have specialist polymer materials knowledge and strong leadership and negotiation

Qualifications

• Experience in business development and winning high value opportunities by building client relationships.
• Ability to write technical reports, worksheets and proposals for materials testing.
• Experience in recommending approaches to solve problems and progress work.
• Specialist testing knowledge of polymer materials.
• Experience in providing technical support and leadership on projects and with colleagues.
• Experience in negotiation with clients regarding cost or works.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead value-adding testing work programmes to meet sales and revenue requirements in the materials testing business.
• Maintain and grow client relationships through effective communication and project delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and support on projects within the Materials Testing team.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Manager to join our Materials Testing team. You will be responsible for developing and leading, value-adding testing work programmes to meet the sales and revenue requirements of the materials testing business, whilst ensuring client requirements are met.

The Successful Candidate

• Will have experience in business development activities and have the ability to identify and win high value opportunities by building and maintaining client relationships.
• Will have the ability to write technical reports worksheets and proposals for materials testing, which may involve large work programmes with multiple/complex elements.
• Will possess demonstrated experience of ability to r recommend approaches to solve problems and/or progress work.
• Have specialist testing knowledge of polymer materials
• Will have experience in providing technical support and leadership on projects and with colleagues
• Will have experience in negotiation with clients and potential clients in regards to cost or works
