Smithers Group is looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join our Materials, Science and Engineering department. In this role, you will be key in liaising with clients, running test programs efficiently, and assisting in the development of new test methods. Candidates should hold a relevant degree and demonstrate competence in polymer testing techniques.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated competence in multiple polymer testing techniques.
• Experience with stress and fatigue testing and environmental exposure testing.
• Proficiency in translating lab data into meaningful commentary for clients.

Responsibilities

• Liaising with clients on testing requirements.
• Setting up and performing test programmes efficiently.
• Designing and building test rigs and testing equipment.
• Assisting in the development of new test methods.
• Supporting the maintenance and organisation of equipment resources.

Skills

Competence in polymer testing techniques

Experience in mechanical properties testing

Computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Excellent communication skills

Education

BSc or B.Eng. in Engineering or Physics
