Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified background in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, or related discipline).
  • Extensive experience managing complex engineering, manufacturing, technical, or systems integration projects.
  • Proven success delivering high-value engineering programmes within demanding customer environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to challenge, guide, and support engineering teams.
  • Demonstrable experience leading project recovery and transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of complex engineering and systems projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Capture, analyse, verify, and validate customer technical requirements to ensure successful project execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Agile, Waterfall, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Manage technical, commercial, quality, budget, and schedule requirements across multiple projects.
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams to achieve project objectives and maximise performance.
  • Rescue and recover challenged projects by identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and restoring delivery targets.
  • Conduct project risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Support product development, research, innovation, and engineering improvement programmes.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and technical governance processes.
  • Drive a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an accomplished Project Engineering Manager with a strong engineering background and a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects from concept through to completion. The successful candidate will lead high-profile engineering programmes, managing the full project lifecycle while ensuring technical excellence, product quality, budget adherence, and on-time delivery. You will work closely with customers, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to capture, validate, and translate system requirements into successful project outcomes.

A key aspect of this position is the ability to identify, recover, and successfully deliver stalled or underperforming projects. You will provide strategic direction, remove barriers, manage technical risks, and create high-performing teams focused on achieving customer and business objectives.
